A Grateful Heart

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

   1 Thessalonians 5:18

This week I am thankful for the honey we extracted. We are getting all set up to open the doors to the friendly people around and offer our honey for sale. I have a hang tag created that will be showcased on each beautiful jar and the little breezeway area between our home and garage is getting in order to be the home of our little shop as we start. So the lovely honey that was on our hives has been the blessing we need to get this business going. It is very exciting to see it all coming together!

What are you thankful for this week?

Decisions, Decisions

Have I ever mentioned how horrible I am at making some decisions? It took me an hour to pick the paint color for our living room... An hour. I was totally overwhelmed by all the choices. So many colors, all so close to the other colors. Just tiny little differences. Maybe it is because we have brought home colors that didn't work before. A yellow that looked lovely by day and neon at night...ugh.

So when I picked up these lovely lockers (for real cheap on craigslist!!!) to use in the breezeway for storage, I naively thought that choosing how to paint them would be easy. But now I am stuck again.

Here is the locker's before look:

Now, I cannot decide what to do with them. The original idea was to paint them something bright and fun: teal, lime green, maybe a bright pink or even orange. I was leaning more towards the teal or green.

Or maybe I should even do several wonderful colors. I really love this, but not sure if it is just too busy. With the gray for the frame, I feel like it is toned down and quite lovely.

Then I got looking at more ideas and I started to also love the antique gray look or even the clean fresh feeling of white lockers.

I have begun to sand off all the rust, but need to come to a decision here. We have nice weather coming and it will be perfect for painting. While I keep working, I would love to hear from you all. What do you think I should do with them?

A Grateful Heart

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

   1 Thessalonians 5:18

Moving back into my own house has been quite something. It was very odd to be here after someone else lived here for a year. But in some ways it really feels more right than anything else that we have done this past year. We have been very busy with lots of painting. Red walls, dark gray walls, light gray walls.... they all had to go. I like my home cheerful and fresh feeling. And the colors on tiny rooms were making me feel like the walls were closing in. So this week, I am thankful that the painting is almost done and the furniture is starting to come back. I am thankful that after a year, I finally feel home. And I am thankful that my sewing machine is now properly out of its box and waiting for the first "back at home" project. I cannot wait to get creating.

The only bad thing is that I have way too many project ideas and not a clue which to do first. :) That is a good problem  to have.

Sorry I have been missing....

I have all of these ideas for blog posts and things to share and started this blog a bit too early. I have been a busy bee with moving. But I hope that once all the red paint and other things are gone or taken care of, I will be able to add more fun posts and show you all the projects I have been dreaming up.

Some include - diy kitchen makeover, basement getting turned into a living room, what to do with all the shells I collected in Florida, homeschooling projects for the next year, yummy recipes and tasty things to eat, some fun and cheap ways to do up our garden and yard space..... and my list goes on.

And I am very excited to see that the hubby has brought the sewing machine back! I see it's lovely box in the pile. So I will be sure to share some of my sewing adventures as well. Stay tuned for upcoming fun.

God Bless,

Debby
