Grateful Heart: Week #11

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

   1 Thessalonians 5:18

Sorry for the silence. We are again, getting ready to move. We have been in a temporary home while waiting to be able to move back in our home. And this week I am just so thankful that the day is nearing. We may be under 1 week now. There is a long story that just keeps getting longer, and crazier, and almost sounds too crazy to be true.... but it will be good to return to the humble home that is ours. No more renting, no more moving, and maybe get back to a somewhat normal life. AND best of all, I can get my sewing machine and craft materials out of storage.

This past year has been such a mess. But one of the big things that we have learned is that we need to love our little humble home, no matter how small or how much it is not functioning for us at this time. We will love it and really work hard to make it work for us for now. And maybe just maybe some day down the road, I can have my farm and chickens and all the lovely simple things I dream about. For now, we will start making baby steps towards this. We will build up our business, start making our right now home a place of love, and continue to makes steps everyday towards the life I believe that God is calling me to follow.

Also -   we have some really interesting plans for redoing some of our 950 sq foot home to fit all of us. And they are all really really economical... since I am broke. Haha. So if you are interested in stuff like that, stay tuned. We will be starting pretty much the day we get in there. And I am super excited about it.

Hope you all are doing well. :)

The fabric above is some of the pieces from Anna Elise by Bari J. The moment I saw it, I was in love. It reminds me of my daughter. I wanted to redo her whole bedroom in it. She isn't so sure yet. She said, I could make her a pillow to start. Kids are so funny.

Anyways, I am pretty excited about now having two sewing machines. My oldest (9 years old) actually sounds a little interested in creating things with me and learning how to use one of the machines. That makes me oh so happy. She is a bit of a tomboy, which I think is awesome, but I definitely didn't think she would be into sewing.

So that got me thinking... what would I have her make? My first project was a pillow in middle school. My mother did not own a sewing machine. Sometimes she would hand sew some things to repair them for us, but she did not make quilts or clothing like my grandmother. So I got on the hunt for some kids friendly projects that my love might enjoy.

Here is what I found:

Crazy Little Projects has 25 things that can be sewn in under 10 minutes. That might be a good place to start. It won't be so big that she gets overwhelmed. My favorite project on there is the hand warmers. These could make sweet gifts she could make for others.
hand warmers
Skip to My Lou has a whole series of sewing with kids. I have a slight obsession with tote bags and would love to have her making them with me! :)

Then I found 15 more fun projects at Not So Idle Hands. And a whole bunch more at So Sew Easy.
This birthday banner would be fun to make and could be changed up for any holiday.

What was your first project? Any first projects you would recommend? As long as my daughter is interested, I will update with some of the projects!

Exciting New Giveaway Link Up

Image result for amazon gift card

Hey All,

I just added something really cool. If you are like me, you might have a  bit of a love for giveaways. I especially love gift card, amazon and paypal giveaways because I can use them on things my family really really needs... like groceries, diapers, gas, etc.

And I want to share these giveaways with you because I bet you need them too. So up at the top you should see a tab for a new page GC Giveaway Gallery (GC for gift card). I will be placing links to gift card giveaways here. And the cool thing is that you can add ones that you find too. We can work together to help each other find and win more!

When you click on one, a little check mark will appear on the image so you know which ones you have checked out already. And I will go in once a week and delete the ones that are expired.

Let me know if you think this will be helpful and if you would like any other giveaway link ups. I can start those up too.

Free Workouts: Week 7

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2d/Competition_kettlebells_8-24_kilos.jpg

Workout #1: Here is an extreme 6 minute workout from one of my favorite workout website: 12 minute athlete.

Workout #2: And this ten minute workout is a great high intensity, but short amount of time to get you moving and back in shape or just keeping you strong.

And don't forget to keep getting enough sleep! It is so important to sleep if you are trying to lose weight, get in shape or just keep healthy.

A Grateful Heart: Week #10

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

   1 Thessalonians 5:18

The bees are back! I am so thankful that the Lord has blessed us with some healthy hives that were able to travel successfully back to New York with us. Nothing else seems to be going right for us right now, but the bees being healthy is a really big one. We have been doing a lot of praying and could really use your prayers too. The hubby's back seems to be worse now and we have a lot of other things that are just not going right. But we will keep going. The Lord is with us and He is helping to grow a strong desire in me to help others that are going through tough times as well. So I will keep praying for all of you out there and I just ask that you might say a little prayer for us too.

(I hope to take some pictures of our lovely hives soon. So if you are into that, be on the look out for some future posts showing our girls!)
